随着社交媒体比如Instagram，Snapchat的兴起以及Thrasher，Berrics这些网站每天的视频更行，我们现在的生活中充满了滑板片段，相比小时候等待几个月盼来的VHS滑板录像带来说，现在的生活简直难以想象。
在VHS和DVD逐渐被淘汰的时候，一些大公司历时许久发布旗下滑板完整片段，找几个哥们坐在沙发上看片欢呼，这无疑又让小时候期待VHS滑板片的心情重燃。我很兴奋可以提前看到Volcom这部滑板大片，尽管上周adidas新片‘Away Days’刚刚上线。
我最喜欢的就是 Daan Van Der Linden 和 Grant Taylor 的片段，还有 Russell Houghten 的拍摄手法，自从他为 New Balance 拍摄的几部极富创意的视频发布之后，我就成了他的粉丝。
这部视频很长，有一个多小时，充满了疯狂的滑板片段。我甚至都想不起来Volcom队伍的成员到底有谁，尤其是他们最近的一部视频还是在11年前（Chichagof），而且这十一年来队伍变化非常大。
片中值得一看的地方包括：Kyle Walker在超长杆子上的招；Chris Pfanner在野餐桌上经典的Pop；Alec Majerus惊人的扶手功底；Colin Provost在Euro-Gap上疯狂的Banger大招，还有Milton Martinez，Jackson Pilz飞跃围栏的脚尖翻，Dane Burman的5-0 Shoveit Out一个超长扶手。Daan Van Der Linden的片段太让我震惊了！
这部片子从头到尾都很棒，片段中的衔接给人一种‘转世’一样的感受。无人机的片段运用的恰到好处，这是你能想到拍得最完美的滑板片了。背景音乐一听就是标准的Volcom风格，感觉很棒，带着点儿复古调调。说实话，片中有的片段我不会看第二次，不过大多数部分看得真是让我想要立马出去滑板！

With the peaking popularity of social media such as Instagram, Snapchat and video parts getting released daily on Thrasher or The Berries, we live in an age of overwhelming skate content we could only wish for when we were kids; then waiting for months or years for the next skate video to be released on VHS. While VHS tapes and DVDs have become a thing of the past now, it’s still great to see brands coming out with full length videos featuring their entire team, re-igniting the nostalgic feeling of getting all your homies together to watch the video on the couch and scream at all its epicness. Though the Volcom video was cast in the shadow of the Adidas ‘Away Days’ which premiered a week before it, I was still excited at the chance to get a pre-screen from Guan Mu; mainly to see the likes of Daan Van Der Linden and Grant Taylor fly across my screen, as well as Russell Houghten’s cinematography which I’ve been a fan of since he started doing the New Balance videos.
The video is long, clocking in at a bit over an hour but filled with some insane skating. You really forget how stacked the Volcom team is, especially considering their last video (Chichagof) came out over 11 years ago and the team has really changed a bit since then. Highlights from the video include: Kyle Walker’s insanely long rail tricks, Chris Pfanner’s pop, an epic picnic table section, Alec Majerus making handrail skating look so fucking easy, some insane euro-gap hammers from Colin Provost and Milton Martinez, Jackson Pilz’s insane kick flip over a fence, Dane Burman’s 5-0 Shuv down a long handrail, and Daan Van Der Linden’s part is mind-blowing.
The filming is incredible throughout the video and brings a sort of Samsara-vibe to the lifestyles between the sections. The drone footage is just the right amount, and all the skate footage is filmed pretty much how you wished it would be. The sound track is very “Volcom”-ish with a feel-good, laid-back vibe for the most of it. To be honest, there are some sections I probably wouldn’t watch again, but for the most part, this video will definitely make you want to go out and skate!
