Was your feed full of crazy skateboarding, ocean views, beach parties, beer, and happy faces last weekend? After nine years, Huachuang Jixian (China leading skatepark design and construction company) has rebooted HOBO DAZE!
Founded by Eric Lai, Hobo Daze is a temporary utopia for the soul to wander. People use skateboarding, surfing, hiking, and picking up trash to face the ocean and the sun, all while surrounded by mountains and bonfires, fighting the numbness of modern life.
上周末的朋友圈是不是满屏的疯狂滑板，大海沙滩，啤酒派对和开心的笑脸？事隔9年，滑创极限重启 HOBO DAZE！Hobo Daze 流浪日由 Eric Lai 创立，是让灵魂流浪的临时乌托邦，大家会用滑板、冲浪、爬山、捡垃圾，面朝大海和阳光，在山川和篝火之中，对抗现代生活的麻木性。
Bo Zai has been settled in Xichong, Shenzhen, for a while now. The last time a HOBO DAZE event happened was way back in 2016. So on the 13th, Zhou Wei gave Bo Zai a call: "Let's restart HOBO DAZE, and Huachuang Jixian will cover the costs."
When asked what sparked the idea, Zhou Wei said, "My kid also skates, but I feel like he hasn't experienced the kind of fun events I used to have. I want to bring back that pure joy of skateboarding."
波仔已经定居在深圳西涌有一段时间了，上一次 HOBODAZE 的活动还定格在 2016 年，13 号这一天周伟给波仔打了一个电话：“我们重启 HOBODAZE 吧，费用滑创极限来出。”
说到周伟为什么会有这个想法，“因为我的小孩也在玩滑板，但是感觉他都没有体验过我原来玩滑板时的那些好玩的活动，我想把滑板的那种纯粹的快乐带回来。”
As soon as the phone call ended, the Huachuang Jixian crew sprang into action, designing posters, hitting up media and sponsors, rebuilding the beachside mini ramp, and locking down the event schedule. Unfortunately, a typhoon rolled through, and workers had to put up temporary tents and keep grinding in the rain. They managed to knock out the entire project in just five days!
放下电话，滑创极限的团队马上行动了起来，设计海报，联系媒体和赞助商，重新改造海滩边的 miniramp，制定活动流程… 不巧碰上台风天，工人们打起了临时帐篷冒雨施工。仅仅用了5天时间就完成了全部改造项目！

Skaters from all over the country started rolling in on the 25th. The turnout for the event totally blew Zhou Wei's mind—with over 100 skaters showing up from all over China, it was the biggest crowd in HOBO DAZE history. For the first night's welcome dinner, everyone got hooked up with some killer BBQ, and of course, the Rootstock beer (founded by China pro skater Du Minggen) was flowing.
25号全国各地的滑手们陆续抵达，这一次赶来参加活动的滑手大大超出了周伟的预期，全国各地 100 多位滑手到场，这也是 HOBO DAZE 历史上人数最多的一次。第一天晚上的欢迎晚宴给大家准备了美味的烧烤，当然还有 Root Stock 啤酒管够。
Sanmen Island
Besides skateboarding, heading out to sea is a classic part of HOBO DAZE. On the second day, the Huachuang crew arranged for eight speedboats to take the skaters to Sanmen Island.
除了滑板，出海也是 HOBODAZE 的保留项目，第二天滑创极限安排了 8 艘快艇带着滑手们前往三门岛“流浪”。
After Party
When everyone got back from Sanmen Island, they all went surfing at the Offshore Wind Club on Xichong Beach. It was the first time for many to be in the ocean with so many skate friends, and they were all having such a good time that no one even took photos… but that's not important. After an entire day of non-stop action, two whole roasted lambs were waiting for everyone that evening.
其实三门岛回来，大家都去西冲海滩离岸风俱乐部冲浪了，第一次感受海里都是滑板的朋友一起冲浪，玩的太开心谁也没拍照...... 不重要，消耗了一整天，晚上两只烤全羊在等着大家了。
