Heavy spot selection and a deep bowl-riding style—Nie Yao is easily one of Beijing’s most iconic skaters, repping that distinct Northern vibe. When SECURITY dropped a few years back, it gave everyone a real look into his perspective on skating and life.
Lately, he’s been putting in work behind the scenes in the skate industry, but he never stopped pushing on the board. Today, after more than a decade holding it down for the crew, Society Skateboards is hyped to officially welcome him to the Pro team, complete with his first-ever pro model and a brand new edit! We also sat down with Society’s Vincent Li for a quick chat to break down the backstory of this signature board.
大胆的地形选择，浓厚的碗池风格——聂垚作为北京最具代表性的滑手之一，一直带着非常鲜明的北方气质。几年前《SECURITY》的发布，也有他对滑板和生活状态的观察和思考。
这几年，他更多活跃在滑板相关的工作中，但并没有减少对滑板的探索。在加入社会滑板十多年后的今天，社会滑板也很荣幸宣布他成为职业滑手，并为其推出签名板面和影片！我们也为社会滑板的李文金做了一个简单的采访，一起了解签名板面背后的故事。
🎙️ Let’s talk about this new pro deck.
Vincent: This pro deck we dropped for Nie Yao was actually a total surprise for him. He’s been holding it down with the crew since 2013. On and off the board, he’s just a solid homie through and through, and he’s got a massive following of skaters who respect him. We’re hyped to finally give him his own pro model!
The graphics were done by our day-one homie and Society co-founder, 0528 Qiu (Li Qiuqiu). He loaded the design with traditional Chinese elements, mixing in the whole vibe of the crew—drinking, surfing, and just living life. The deck drops in an 8.25.
🎙️ 介绍下这次的职业签名板吧。
李文金：这次社会滑板为聂垚出的职业签名板面，也是我们给他的惊喜。聂垚差不多是 2013 年加入队伍，一直到现在。他在滑板时和私下里，他都是值得深交的好兄弟，相信喜欢他的滑手也不在少数。所以很开心能为他推出一款签名板面！
然后这次设计，依旧来自我们的老朋友，0528 球（李球球），社会滑板创始人之一。设计里融入了很多中国元素，和兄弟们日常喜欢喝酒，喜欢冲浪的感觉在里面。尺寸为 8.25。
🎙️ Word on the street is this pro deck took a minute to drop. What took so long?
Vincent: Yeah, it’s been on the back burner for about two years. Nie Yao’s been out in Aranya the last two summers handling skate jobs, so getting out there to film and stack clips for his part wasn’t easy. But man, even when he was buried in work, his passion never faded. He’s always finding ways to sneak in sessions and keep innovating his trick selection.
🎙️ 听说这个事也拖了一阵了，前前后后发生了什么？
李文金：是，拖了有 2 年左右，因为聂垚近两年夏季，都在阿那亚从事滑板相关的工作，所以他签名板的视频拍摄和积累素材都来之不易。不过工作中忙里偷闲的同时，他也从来没有减弱对滑板的热情和对滑板动作的创新。
🎙️ What’s the vibe with Society Skateboards lately? Who’s still riding for the team?
Vincent: Currently, we’re heavily focused on pushing more collabs. It’s a great way to inject fresh blood and new inspiration into the brand.
As for the heavy hitters holding it down for the crew, the official roster is: Chuan Han, Yang Li, Sun Fan, Xiao Lan, Li Baiyu, Wang Tianlin, Hu Jinchen, Nie Yao, Jin Shaobo, Lao Ying, and Li Wenjin.
🎙️ 目前社会滑板是什么状态，还有哪些赞助滑手？
李文金：目前我们主要的发展方向是推出更多的联名产品，这样也可以为社会滑板品牌带来更多的新鲜血液和灵感。
目前社会的队员有：川涵，杨力，孙帆，小岚，李佰煜，王天麟，胡近晨，聂垚，金绍博，老鹰，李文金。
🎙️ What’s the next move for you guys?
Vincent: Next up, we’re looking to team up for more collaborative projects, including some crazy crossover collabs. We just want to keep cooking up solid products and throwing dope events for the skaters and all the homies who love and support Society.

李文金：接下来我们将以合作的方式，来尝试一些联名产品，包括跨界的合作，继续为滑手以及喜爱社会滑板的朋友们多做一些好产品和活动。
