Tommy Zhao - Day in Life in Sweden

Patrik Wallner documents a day in the life of filmer Tommy Zhao in Sweden. Over a year after relocating from Shanghai to Sweden, Tommy’s life has shifted in so many ways. A new city, new spots, and completely unforeseen challenges—at 39, he discovered that two of his major coronary arteries were over 80% blocked.

Following treatment and recovery, he made his way back onto the board. This short documentary captures Tommy catching trains to skate and film, alongside warm moments throwing a traditional crayfish party with family and friends. Summer is short, so make every day count.

Skateboarding remains an undeniable piece of who he is, and he still misses life in Shanghai. But today, his focus is anchored on the present and the people around him: "I'm just trying to live in the moment and really appreciate right now."

For years, Tommy Zhao spearheaded Vans skate video production across China and the broader Asia-Pacific region while managing the Vans Asia skate team, filming and producing an extensive catalog of iconic tours and video projects.
